Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, built 691-692. The central placement of the dome is based on the architecture style of Greek Orthodox churches.

The style of the mosaics in the Dome of the Rock is reminiscent in many details of the ornamentation of Christian churches.A.C. Cresswell in his book Origin of the plan of the Dome of the Rock notes that those who built the shrine used the measurements of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Among Muslims, the Mount is widely considered to be the third holiest site in Islam. Revered as the Noble Sanctuary and the destination of Muhammad's journey to Jerusalem and ascent to heaven, the site is also associated with Jewish biblical prophets who are also venerated in Islam
